Catholic Schools' Week-Faith, Academics, Service

Although this Catholic Schools' week is a little different because we usually kick it off with an open house, we will still be celebrating the wonderful students that we have here at Saint Michael the Archangel School.  We will be doing many activities that focus on our wonderful Catholic Identity.Thank you to everyone who sent in items for our Jared Box Project. We will be assembling them during the week and making cards with our 7th grade buddies on Monday.  On Tuesday, January 31st, we will be having a Parent Coffee.  Parents are invited to grab a treat in the gym and join us in our classroom anytime from 8:15 to 9:15.  Students will report directly to their class that day and not to the gym.  Wednesday there will be student assemblies and we will be having a treat in the afternoon and there will be  no homework  that night.  We will be thanking our volunteers in our copy room, Jerry in the lunchroom and his crew as well as our principal and pastor.  Of course we cannot forget Groundhog's day on Thursday which is always a fun day in Kindergarten.  Friday we will be closing Catholic Schools week with a mass and the Blessing of the Throats for the Feast of Saint Blaize.  We will have a silent "Prayer on the Parkway" as we all exit church and hold hands to pray together.  Dismissal this day will be at 11:30.

Tuesday:  Please print one row of R and one row of r.  Draw something that begins with Rr.

Wednesday:  No homework.

Thursday:  Please count to 100. Write your numbers 1-20  one time each. 

Please practice sight words every day and make flashcards of them.   They are:  zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,  I, my, we, will, and, some, are, can, do, it,Jesus, God, like and see.  Make flash cards and practice at home! 

Check your child's folder EVERY NIGHT!  This is our main form of communication. Gym day is Tuesday!
